Privacy Policy

Channel Desk is a private analytics application operated by Richard Graham for his own social media channels. It is not open for public account registration.

Information used

For accounts the owner authorises, Channel Desk collects account identifiers and names, available profile statistics, video or post identifiers, titles, captions, publication dates and performance metrics. Available data depends on each platform and the permissions granted.

Authorisation credentials, including access and refresh tokens where supplied, are used to retrieve account data. Channel Desk does not ask for or store social media account passwords.

Purpose and storage

Information is used to compare channel performance, retain analytics snapshots and produce reports. Analytics are stored in the application's private database. Stored account tokens are encrypted; the owner is responsible for protecting the encryption key, server and backups. Credentials are excluded from analytics exports.

Sharing and external services

Channel Desk communicates with the platforms for accounts the owner connects. It does not sell account data or use it for advertising. The owner may download reports and choose to share them with an analysis service, including ChatGPT; such sharing is controlled by the owner and subject to that service's own privacy terms.

Browser and server information

Essential browser state may be used for account authorisation and security. These public information pages contain no advertising or analytics scripts. Hosting software may keep operational logs such as requests, IP addresses and error information.

Retention and access removal

Analytics snapshots, exports and backups are retained until the owner deletes them. Account access can be revoked through the relevant social platform. Revoking access stops future authorised collection but does not automatically erase previously stored reports, exports or backups. The owner can remove stored account data and credentials from the application storage and delete associated backups and exports.
